Transfer pricing is not a one-time exercise. Multinational companies must continue to demonstrate that transactions between related entities remain consistent with the arm’s-length standard.
An initial transfer pricing study establishes the company’s functional analysis, tested-party selection, economic methodology, comparable-company framework, and intercompany pricing policies. Subsequent annual updates evaluate whether those conclusions remain supportable based on current financial results and changes in the business.

These structures may create recurring transfer-pricing requirements involving:
Government incentives, tax credits, or economic-development benefits do not eliminate the requirement to support related-party pricing.
The annual process can be scaled to the company’s circumstances. When the business structure, controlled transactions, and economic methodology remain substantially unchanged, an annual update generally requires less work than the initial transfer pricing study.
If significant changes occur, the documentation can be expanded to address the new transactions and economic risks.
